This 30 W
loudspeaker gives uniform, undistorted sound reproduction over a frequency
range of 35 to 10,000 c/s. excellent bass reproduction is obtained owing to the
very flexible suspension and centring of the cone. As the air gap is longer
than the moving coil, the latter always vibrates in a homogeneous field,
thereby excluding sound distortion, even at lerge amplitudes of the cone.
The core of
the magnetic system is lined with brass; the eddy currents generated in this
brass lining damp the natural resonances of the cone and improve the transient
reproduction. Moreover, owing to the brass lining, the impedance in the
high-frequency range increases less than with other loudspeakers.
The heavy
magnet of Ticonal steel will not be misaligned, even if subjected to violent
shocks.
The frame is
of die-cast aluminium.
All parts
are cadmium-plated or impregnated to avoid corrosion.
