What is stereo?

There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic (monaural) and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound.

JVC TD-V 621

Discrette Three-Head Cassette Deck
Features:
Pure, dynamic tape sound and exceptional ease of use.
The design goals of our cassette decks were the performance up to a par with dynamic digital sound and the computer-controlled convenience to match. As you see, we scored high on both counts.
High rigidity, low resonsnce and low vibration.

Harmful "acoustic modulation noise" the source of fuzzy and muddy sound, is suppressed by using a rigid die-cast aluminum base for the head drive mechanism, cassette stabilizing pad and large insulators
Auto DDRP (Dynamics Detection Recording Processor)
The DDRP is another automatic convenience made possible by JVC's COMPU LINK Control System. Just touch the "DDRP" button on a CD player, and recording levels for CD are optimized and programmed tracks are recorded, all automatically. What's more, the output from the CD player is automatically set to bypass the recording level control in the deck so it's fed to the record head directly. To maximize the performance of each tape, the input sensitivity is automatically set by type (normal/chrome and metal). So with DDRP we've entriely eliminated the chore of adjusting recording level for best results every time you record different CDs using different tapes.
JVC COMPU LINK Control System with sync convenience
Mate our COMPU LINK cassette decks with COMPU LINK components, and they operate interactively with each other when using our cassette decks with our CD players, for example you can operate three hours continuously or record on two tappes simultaneously.

Monitor capable discrete 3-head configuration; "Fine" amorphous heads for better high-frequency response and low wear.
Computer-controlled full-logic control - It makes comfortable touch operation, direct control of tape and remote control operation yours to enjoy.
Silent mechanism for driving head assembly
Closed-loop dual-capstan drive - In a closed-loop dual-capstan drive, the tape, as it runs across the heads, is isolated from vibration. Better response and lower intermodulation noise are the results.
Low-resonance designs; Die-cast aluminum base for mechanism, high-specific-gravity front panel, cassette-shell stabilizer, large insulators
2" Direct inputs for direct connection with CD player, etc.
PCOCC coil and lead wiring in heads - A fine amorphous head combines better high-frequency response and low wear. Highly pure copper wiring called PCOCC in heads ensures signal purity and clarity.
Separate circuit construction for low interference
DC-configured amps on separate PC boards
Low-impedance voltage-tracking regulated power supply
Dolby HX-Pro and double Dolby B/C noise reductionsystems with MPX filter
Fluorescent Digital peak Display, level meters and digital counter
Auto Rec Mute, Music Scan, Timer start (record/play), Auto tape selector
Headphone output with volume control
Bias control for flat response from any tape
Balance control
Gold-plated terminals
